Organic Sea Buckthorn Tea 60g

Experience the vibrant, citrusy flavour of sea buckthorn tea, crafted from certified organic berries for a healthy, refreshing herbal infusion.

What is it?

Sea buckthorn tea is made from whole, organic sea buckthorn berries that have been hand-picked from a family farm in the pristine Transylvanian countryside. The fresh berries are gently dried over a traditional wood fire to concentrate their natural goodness.

The result is a distinctive herbal tea with an attractive golden hue and a tangy, citrus-forward flavour enhanced by exotic tropical notes of mango and pineapple.

This single-origin artisan tea is free of artificial colours, flavours, and preservatives, and is made with non-GMO fruit.

How to make it?

To maximise the benefits of sea buckthorn, it’s important not to use boiling water for steeping, as this can destroy some of the naturally occurring vitamins. For the best results:

  1. Place one teaspoon of dried sea buckthorn berries in a cup.
  2. Pour in 200-250 ml of lukewarm water (around 40°C).
  3. Let it steep for 3 to 5 hours, or ideally overnight.
  • The tart flavour of this tea makes it perfect for a refreshing summer drink. Simply chill the tea in the fridge or serve it over ice. You can add a slice of lemon for an invigorating experience, or a dash of apple juice for a mellower treat.
  • For a soothing beverage, gently warm the tea after the steeping period. You can also add a stick of cinnamon or fresh ginger to create a superfood tonic.
  • Enjoy it with a spoonful of raw honey to balance the naturally racy acidity.

Health benefits

  • Sea buckthorn contains around 15 times more vitamin C than an orange, making it one of the best sources of this essential nutrient. Vitamin C supports immune function and can protect against seasonal illnesses.
  • Sea buckthorn is also one of the few plant sources of omega-7, which is linked to improved insulin sensitivity and reduced inflammation.
  • Additionally, sea buckthorn is exceptionally rich in antioxidants, flavonoids, phenolic acids, and carotenoids. These compounds work together to neutralise free radicals and reduce oxidative stress.

Transylvanian Herb Garden

The family farm organically cultivates over 100 varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices in their one-hectare garden on the outskirts of the scenic village of Szentábrahám, in the heart of Transylvania. The plants are grown under certified organic conditions, without the use of artificial pesticides.

The life of the garden begins each autumn when they harvest their own seeds for the next year’s crops. These seeds are then planted in the spring and lovingly nurtured, with careful hand-weeding. The harvest is also carried out manually, ensuring that only the finest produce is collected after it has ripened under the summer sunshine.

The herbs are expertly dried over wood fire using traditional methods, and they are packed right on the farm, ensuring their guaranteed provenance.
